Interview Assingment

n this assignment, you are required to interview three women who are in perimenopause, menopause, or postmenopause. Each question is designed to encourage open discussion while offering valuable insight into women’s feelings and lived experiences. We learn best through shared experiences, and building this understanding helps deepen our knowledge, enabling us to become the most informed, compassionate, and effective Menopause Doula Support Officers.

What age did you start menopause and how were you diagnosed?

How did menopause affect your relationship with your spouse or family members?

How would you describe your menopause experience to a 25 year old?

At what point did you seek support and with whom?

If you did take HTR or any medication did it help? what did you take? how long did it take to start working?

What symptom would you say was the worst side of menopause?

What did you do, that helped you cope?

Describe in your own words a Hot Flash

How long have you been going through menopause? are you out the other end now?

Did you feel supported during by family or friends?

Weight gain during menopause can cause not only health problems but also mental health too. How did you cope with the weight gain, how did if affect your mental health?

Were you aware of menopause before you got diagnosed?

Did you ever discuss with your husband. how you were feeling and how it was affecting you?

If you could go back and tell your younger self some wise words or encouragement, what would you say?

If there was help and support out there for you, in the form of a Menopause Doula. Would you have been tempted to get in touch?
